SVGCC Division of Technical and Vocational Education (DTVE) Handover Ceremony 2020/21

October 28, 2020

For the fifth year, The Mustique Charitable Foundation has awarded Partial Scholarships to students at the St. Vincent & the Grenadines Community College-Division of Technical and Vocational Education (SVGCC-DTVE). This academic year 25 scholarships are being awarded to 20 students pursuing the final year in their Associate Degree and five (5) students pursuing the final semester in their Certificate Programme for a combined value of US$22,930 (EC $61,640).

The scholarships are awarded to deserving students who are in financial need and cover 80% of their registration fees, course resources, transportation and lunch which enable these students to be better positioned to complete their studies at the institution.

The Handover Ceremony for the 20 Associate Degree Partial Scholarships was held on Wednesday 28th October, 2020 where Nigel Scott (Director of SVGCC) expressed his gratitude to The Mustique Charitable Foundation for their fifth year of funding and reminded the DTVE students to take advantage of this opportunity. Osborne Bowens (Dean of SVGCC-DTVE) further added that the students selected were “of the best” at the division and he encouraged them to work even harder to achieve success. Dularie Malcolm (The MCF Project Director) gave a brief background on the history between MCF and SVGCC-DTVE and highlighted to the students that technically trained individuals are very valuable to the development of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The five (5) Certificate Program Partial Scholarships will be awarded in January 2021 at the beginning of the final semester of the programs.
