SVGCC Division of Teacher Education Handover Ceremony 2021/2022

February 11, 2022

On Friday 11th February, 2022, the Handing Over Ceremony of Partial Scholarships to students at the St. Vincent & the Grenadines Community College-Division of Teacher Education was held at the SVGCC Community College, Villa Campus.

This academic year, 32 scholarships are being awarded to final year students at the Teacher Division and will assist recipients with defraying some of the costs associated with pursing their studies.

For a combined value of US$52,165 (EC $140,230), the scholarships were awarded to deserving students who are in financial need and cover transportation, meals, programme fees as well as practice teaching materials. This would enable them to be better positioned to complete their studies at the institution.

At the Handover Ceremony Nigel Scott (Director of SVGCC) expressed his gratitude to the Mustique Charitable Foundation for their continued philanthropic effects and reminded the DTVE students to take full advantage of this opportunity. S. Marise Butler (Dean of SVGCC-DTE) further added that the students selected were well deserving and implored awardees to use the funds as they are intended. Natalia Gill (MCF Project Director) highlighted to the students the importance of teaching and reminded recipients that they have the opportunity to “touch the future of St. Vincent & the Grenadines through the power of education”.
