Mustique Charitable Foundation Donates Culinary Equipment & Consumables to West St. George Secondary School’s Food Preparation Laboratory
The Mustique Charitable Foundation (MCF) officially handed over a full complement of culinary and food preparation equipment, along with consumables, to the West St. George Secondary School (WSGSS) to support the outfitting of its new Food Preparation Laboratory. This ceremony took place on Thursday, September 25th, 2025, and the donation included a range of appliances and utensils that will allow students to gain practical, hands-on training in culinary arts and related areas.
At the handover ceremony, Minister of Education, Hon. Curtis King, highlighted the importance of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in preparing students for future employment. He encouraged students to make full use of the upgraded facility, emphasizing that skills gained in food preparation and hospitality can open doors to meaningful careers both locally and internationally.

Chief Education Officer, Kay Martin-Jack, described the project as a valuable investment in the youth of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, noting that the enhancement of TVET programmes at the secondary school level provides students with more diverse opportunities for growth and success.
Speaking on behalf of the Mustique Charitable Foundation, Project Director Natalia Gill reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to supporting education and skills development across the country. She encouraged the students at WSGSS to embrace the opportunities that this new facility will provide and to take pride in developing competencies that can empower them for the future.
The Mustique Charitable Foundation is pleased to have partnered with the Ministry of Education to make this initiative a reality, ensuring that over 300 students at West St. George Secondary School will now have access to a modern, fully equipped food preparation laboratory as part of their secondary education.
MCF remains committed to supporting educational and youth development initiatives, and this donation is one step in our ongoing efforts to promote excellence, creativity, and employability among young people in communities across the country.
