For the academic year 2020-2021, The Mustique Charitable Foundation has funded 170 partial scholarships for disadvantaged young Vincentians at the St Vincent and Grenadines Community College (SVGCC) and the four Technical Institutes at Barrouallie, Campden Park, Kingstown and Georgetown.
This is the fifth year that The Mustique Charitable Foundation has funded partial scholarships for students in Technical & Vocational Education & Training (TVET). In its initial year in 2016, The Mustique Charitable Foundation funded 24 partial scholarships at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College-Division of Technical and Vocational Education.
The Mustique Charitable Foundation is dedicated to helping those who are in need in St. Vincent and the Grenadines with its three focus areas being: vocational scholarships, pediatric healthcare, and literacy.
In its five years of operations, The Mustique Charitable Foundation has contributed EC$2,644,452 (US$986,000) for:
- 684 vocational scholarships for disadvantaged young Vincentians at the St. Vincent and Grenadines Community College and the four Technical Institutes
- 11,727 books for preschools and primary and secondary schools and literacy professionals who teach teachers how to increase literacy and potentially reach close to 50,000 students
- 687 diagnoses and/or operations for young Vincentians for scoliosis, urology, general surgery, general orthopedic, ophthalmology, neurosurgery, and cardiology
- Funds to the Mustique Children in Need Fund to help the seven children whose parents perished at sea in June 2017
The Mustique Charitable Foundation is a registered US 501(c)3 non-profit organization and is funded by the Mustique community of homeowners, renters, and friends.
